DGT

The new Toma 1.6 is now available from the DGT website. In this release known issues are resolved and new features are included. The main new features are the possibility to import a Fide Rating Report file for creating the rounds and solving game errors in games by clicking on the pieces in game board (the right board). See the Change logs below for the exact changes.

Furthermore we have created a new manual, which is added as the help file and as a separate PDF file.

This TOMA version still has some problems with stability (e.g. freezing TOMA Pro). We are trying to solve these problems. In the mean time we also started to develop a next generation TOMA where ease of use and stability are key focus points. Feel free to send your wish list for a new generation of TOMA to our development team.

Bugs solved:

• FTPuP: Restoring the auto-saved settings when starting up from the menu. In version 1.6.0 this was missing.

Added functionality:

• TOMA: Import module for Fide Rating Report. Instead of typing names, a user can read the pairings from file and choose players from a list.
• TOMA: Added support for writing annotations and export to PGN.
• TOMA: Do moves on the board by clicking on the chess pieces. First click picks up a piece and displays all squares where the piece can legally move to. Second click will move the piece to it's destination square.
• TOMA: User is now able to choose between Standard Algebraic Notation and Long Algebraic Notation.
• Display Client: added support for chess960 in Display Client.

Bugs solved:

• Fixed communication bug: TOMA and BoardConnector were unable to communicate when computer name contains the character '-'.
• Fixed clock time bug: show clock time after flag has fallen in TOMA.
• Fixed chess960 FEN: now showing FEN as Fritz 10 (added tags Variant and Setup) in PGN files.
• Fixed clock time bug: fixed the two clocks running bug in Display Client.
• Fixed FTP Uploader: fixed bug when opening an uploader from the Edit Round dialog, when path containing a " "-character.

Changed:

• New DGT-logo's in software.

Known issues:

• The stability of GUI is still a problem.
• FtPuP is known to crash sometimes and take all bandwidth.
