Terms and conditions of DGT chess clock design competition
Entry Guidelines and Requirements:
1. The competition is open to all individuals regardless of their age. Minors under 18 years should provide written permission of a parent or legal guardian.
2. All submissions must be the original work of the participant and must not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party.
3. Only one entry per person.
4. Entries may not contain material that violates or infringes another's rights, including, but not limited to, privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights, including copyright infringement, or legal or moral rights of any third party, living or deceased.
5. Entries must be the sole, exclusive and original work of the participant and must not contain images or artwork, music, quotes, parodies, or other materials not created by participant.
6. Entries may not contain any logos, brand names or trademarks, other than those of DGT.
7. Entries may contain, facilitate, reference, or use material that is fraudulent, inappropriate, indecent, lewd, pornographic, obscene, hateful, tortious, defamatory, slanderous, or libelous.
8. Entries may not contain, facilitate, reference or use material that contains prohibited content which shall include, but is not limited to, content that promotes, suggests, or encourages i. gambling, including without limitation, any content related to online casinos, sports books, bingo or poker; ii. the use of firearms/weapons/ammunition, any illegal drugs, prostitution, pornography, nudity, profanity or other adult content, violence, or the use of alcohol or tobacco products; iii. the taking up of arms against any person, government, or entity (or otherwise challenges or seek to overthrow any government).
9. Entries may not contain, facilitate, reference, or use material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred, or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, ethnicity, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, political orientation, citizenship, ancestry, marital status, or age.
Deadline: All submissions must be received by the given deadline, which will be communicated to participants.
Publicity: The winner agrees to allow the competition organizers to publish their name, design, and the details of their winning submission on the competition website and any related publications.
Disqualifications: Any violation of the competition rules or submission guidelines will result in disqualification.
Liability: The competition organizers shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from the participant's participation in the competition.
Winner notification: The winner will be publicly announced on our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and website) and contacted by email with the data provided when entering the competition. Failure to reply to our communications after two weeks, may result in disqualification and the prize to be awarded to another participant.
Design ownership: By entering the competition participants agree to give full ownership and intellectual property rights of the design to DGT. DGT can use it as they see fit without the participant's permission or compensation for any use including commercialisation of the design and taking it into production.
Acceptance of Rules: By participating in the competition, participants agree to accept and abide by all the rules and guidelines listed.
