The DGT Chess Clock Design competition has a winner

DGT Celebrates 30 Years with a unique Chess Clock Design

Back to overview

The DGT Chess Clock Design competition has found its winner! Aimed at commemorating the 30th anniversary of DGT, we invited everyone to share their vision with us and offered a lucky winner the opportunity to create the chess clock of their dreams. We enjoyed reviewing all the entries and selecting the winning design.

The competition received 46 entries from 18 countries, demonstrating a wide interest and remarkable diversity in conceptual design approaches from around the world. Designers and chess enthusiasts from a variety of backgrounds brought their unique visions and ideas to the competition.

DGT was on the lookout for a design that stood out for its originality and distinctive look. Laura Pastor Vela, a talented designer from Madrid, presented an innovative and stylish design which made her the winner of the competition. With its unique pattern and colourful design, the Wobble Clock stood out from the rest and won first place.

DGT produced a few copies of the winning chess clock and one of them was presented to Laura. This new design is particularly special as it commemorates DGT's 30 years in the chess industry. This clock is not just a timekeeper; it is a celebration of three decades of precision, innovation, fun and playfulness that characterizes the timeless spirit of the game of chess.
