Can I connect a serial e-Board to a computer that has only USB-connections?

Yes you can. You require a qualified Serial-to-USB Converter Cable convertor cable to connect a Serial Tournament e-Board to the USB port of your computer. These converters are standard supplied by DGT in the connection kit for the first board of a string of serial e-Boards.

You should install the converter driver software before connecting the converter to your computer USB port and your serial DGT e-Board. Please be aware that this converter cannot supply the required power for serial e-Boards. You still need the external power adapter which came with your serial board in combination with the special serial cable.

When you have a FTDI Serial-to-USB Converter Cable provided by DGT, you can use the DGT board setup wizzard< to install the necessary drivers for this converter.
