Why does my USB-connection show up as a com port?

Answer:

The DGT USB e-Board has an internal USB to serial converter. The Windows operating system will identify this as a serial COM port. In most cases the text "USB" is added in brackets after the comport number, like COM3 (USB).

The RabbitPlugin driver will present a drop down menu as in below picture. Older RabbitPlugin versions may show all available COM ports with a radio button. If you have such version please update RabbitPlugin to the latest version which is available on the download section of our website.
