Why does my DGT2010 loose some settings when a time correction is made during play in option 21?

This article is only for DGT2010 chess timers with serial numbers starting with D0411, D0811, D2911, D3711, D0912 or D2012.
All other DGT2010 timers are not affected and keep the remaining data after a correction in option 21.

When the manually set option 21 with move counter is used the DGT2010 in the above serial number range "forgets" the settings for the next periods, when a correction is made.

In option 21 of the DGT2010 it is possible to activate the move counter to trigger the transition to the next period. FIDE does not encourage this method and prefers the transition to take place at the moment one of the players reaches zero time.

When the time of the next period is added, the players should check themselves if the required number of moves is played. This can be read from the score sheet or can be obtained from the clock. The number of moves that the clock displays may be affected though by incorrect operation of the lever.

When Option 21 is used without the move counter as advised by the FIDE no problems occur after a correction

When Option 21 is used with the move counter activated and no correction is made, the clock will run normally, but as soon as correction in time or moves is made, the remaining planned periods are skipped.

There is a work around to make a correction and keep the remaining periods active. Arbiters are encouraged to download and print the pdf file below and have it within reach at tournaments when Fischer Bonus timing with more than one time control is used.
